Obituary for Darlene Elizabeth Davis
Darlene Elizabeth Phillips Davis, 63 of Falls View went home to be with her Lord on May 2, 2019 after a seven year long hard fight with breast cancer.
She was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Phillips. She was born in Montgomery, WV in the Peck Clinic and grew up in Smithers, WV. She graduated from Montgomery High School in 1973. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ralph Davis, and two children, Chad Davis (Kessie) of Oak Hill, WV and Kelly Spaulding (husband David a wonderful son-in-law) of Montgomery Heights, WV; One brother, Thomas Phillips, (wife Karen), two sisters, Jeanne Phillips-Lever, and Karen Phillips-Bellamy, (husband David); Three grandchildren, Summer, Hannah and David Spaulding II all of Montgomery Heights; Sister In-Law Ann Phillips-Martin and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her three brothers, Gary, Rod and Gerald, and two sisters, Delores and Nancy.
Darlene loved spending time with her husband and taking trips as often as they could. She was a member of the Falls View Presbyterian Church, where she loved working in the Food Pantry. She had a great Love for her Church Family and cherished the times they spent together.
Darlene was a kind, caring, loving and giving person who would help anyone if she could. She had an unconditional love for everyone she met; she especially loved her family whom she loved with all her heart, especially her three grandchildren, Summer, Hannah and David.
The family would like to thank all the nurses, doctors and caregivers from CAMC Breast Cancer Center in Charleston, WV for all that they did in treating Darlene during her long battle.
A very special thank you to the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV and the nurses from the Hospice of Southern, WV who came to her aid at home. And a very, very special thank you to her best friend Jackie Bee who was by her side until the end.
Service will be May 15, 2019 at 7:00 PM at O’Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery, WV and friends may call 1 hour before service. The service will be officiated by Pastor Kari Preslar and Rev. Joan Stewart.
The family would like to ask that in instead of flowers a donation be made to the Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr., Beckley, WV 25801 in honor of Darlene.
